IDEAS Kids Camp Summer 2008

We are pleased to announce that IDEAS Kids Camp is up and ready to get going again this Summer 2008!

Who

We invite children and youth of all ages who are living with intestinal disease to come join our camps for fun and friendship and to meet more kids who are just like them, building confidence, independence and a sense of adventure!

*We have posted information below about the individual summer camps available at each of the South Slope, Tong Louie, and Parkgate Community Centres where summer camps are taking place. Please note that there are more opportunities for camps available to all ages and locations. Please get in contact with us for more details.

*Volunteer and leadership opportunities at the South Slope YMCA start the week of June 23rd and the volunteer and leadership retreat take place the week after, June 30th. If you are interested and would like to get involved, please get in touch with us!

What

Camp is a great week, filled with games, sports, crafts, and fun adventures!

IDEAS Kids Camp is a week-long summer camp programme in place to send children and youth to camp at no cost.

Please see the bottom of the page for some of the different options of week-long camps available for your child or youth to take part in during the month of August throughout the Metro Vancouver, BC region and Lower Mainland.

If you have other camp options or locations in mind for your child or youth, please get in contact with us to discuss the possibilities.

Where

In the Vancouver and Lower Mainland locations, we are primarily in contact with camp staff at the South Slope YMCA located in South Vancouver and the Tong-Louie Family YMCA in Surrey and near Langley. For camps in North Vancouver we have events available through the Parkgate Community Centre.

For more information on the individual camps and to visit community centre websites directly, we have the links available for your perusal here:

When

The timing of opportunities for will depend on the programme of choice.

The deadline for all registrations is exactly 4pm every Monday before the week of the start of camp. For example, for the week of August 11-15, camp registrations must be received by no later than August 4th to ensure that all registrations and payments are confirmed.

Why

iDEAS KiDS camp is an opportunity for kids and teens who share the same health challenges to interact and have some great summer fun! IDEAS believes that by empowering and supporting children and youth with intestinal disease, young people can define their lives by their abilities and accomplishments, rather than by their health.

How

Through the support of generous sponsors, IDEAS is able to send children and youth to camp at no cost. IDEAS will also be providing transportation to and from camp daily. Contact us for more information.

How to Register

If you have a child aged 3-5, or 12-16 or even 17 and older interested in attending, we have many camps we would like to send your kids to, along with many other great ways to get involved. Please register or send Amanda a message anytime for more information!

We would love to see you out there!
